Marks & Spencer, part of Al Futtaim Retail, is a globally recognised retail brand offering stylish, high quality, great value clothing and home products as well as outstanding foods.
With 18 Stores currently located across the GCC including locations in the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar there is further growth planned with an additional four stores to open in 2012 to further strengthen this exciting brand within the Middle East market.We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Merchandiser with the direct and significant responsibility of buying  the right product in the right quantities and right size ratios for the varied local markets. In this role you will be responsible for:

* Maintaining food catalogue for ingredients, price and life of the product on food ordering system and add the product list with details into catalog.
* Monitoring the sales and place an order on a weekly basis for consistency of stock level
* Tracking the purchase orders and preparing statistical data
* Maintaining of stocks/ordering/food waste to fully maximize the sales and reduce food waste.
* Understanding the company's pricing policy and working towards achieving marginal targets
* Interpret the system reports in order to make effective business decisions using the forward requirement analysis, near expiry promotions and availability reporting.
* Taking feedback from the store-based managers especially with regard to customer feedback on products to help with continued selection of the right product
* Liaising with stores and marketing department regarding promotions and special events

Requirements

To be successful in winning this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

* Degree / Diploma in a Fashion related discipline
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Excel
* Good written and oral presentation skills
* Knowledge of SAP system would be an advantage
* Retail awareness
* Analytical skills and high degree of accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure
* Self Motivated
* Team player
