Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, one of the leading food manufacturing companies in the Middle East with a diverse product portfolio in food, is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Quality Manager. The role will report into the Technical Centre Manager, specifically to work on Quality issues for the Oil department.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Quality & Food Safety Management (FSM) system for the responsible business units to ensure all products are manufactured under the company’s guideline and regulations
• Assist the decision makers in procurement/launching of raw material, packaging material &/or new products as required
• Act as quality team leader for responsible business units ensuring the implementation & compliance to Q&FSM system
• Assist Technical Center Manager to develop & execute product / process / packaging improvement projects for new / existing products that will lead to growth & expansion
• Plan & conduct market competition studies with respect to product / packaging quality & new recipes / blends in compliance with FSM
• Ensure full compliance of Quality Management System for responsible business unit to include QC sampling, inspection, testing/analysis & reporting activities & decision making processes for product acceptance/ rejection in coordination with production units
• Coordinate with Technical Center Manager and other Assistant Quality Managers, develop, get approval, establish annual quality plan, product/packaging specifications, IMS plan, complaints & non-conformance management system, rework & material management system, in compliance with the food safety & hygiene for responsible business units
• Assist Technical Centre Manager to handle & resolve product complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
• Provide research to undertake sample analysis for comparison against industry standards where appropriate advise industry standards agencies to publish in industry reports
• Training and development of staff

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must hold a BSc in Food Science or Chemistry
• Ideal candidates should hold an MSc in Food Science or Chemistry
• Minimum 5 years of previous experience in quality assurance/ quality excellence/ food safety division
• 2 years of experience at supervisory/ managerial position
