Job description / Role
The Assistant Resident Engineer will provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to Clients.
Duties will include:
* provide professional support to the resident engineer, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients
* involves delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post;
* review and comment on Contractor's designs and material submissions
* inspect work in progress for conformance to specifications, approved drawings and method statements
* review, monitor and report on progress of works
* check plant, equipment and materials delivered and verify against approved submissions
* check measurement sheets for the work done and check Contractor's payment certificates
* coordinate with the Client and Contractor
* liaise with other Authorities
* advise on contractual and construction matters
* assert with and coordinate forward planning
* liaise with all parties for site safety
* ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals
* ensure accuracy and completeness of records
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering
* minimum of 10 yrs progressive management experience with contractor or consultant on heavy civil projects; 5 yrs as shift or section engineer on US$50M+ wastewater projects
* specifically a minimum of 5 yrs in construction of subterranean pumping stations or other significant underground structures and treatment plants.
* familiarity with applicable international standards
* experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry is preferred
* strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills
* Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
* must hold a valid UAE driving licence
