Job Purpose:
The UAE Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) aimed to improve the storm water drainage in the area and started the new Pumping Station 10B project with a construction cost 183 million AED in Industrial Area 10 and a rising main (pipeline) to the sea outfall. Halcrow has designed the project and now been assigned the role of Engineer to supervise the construction works.
This role is required to oversee/supervise all aspects of the construction of the structures as per approved design and drawings and act as an Engineer of the Client.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review,comment documents submitted by the contractor such as shop drawings, method statement, ITP, RFI, RFA, as-built drawings etc.
- Carry out inspection of the works to ensure construction as per the specifications and raise NCR as required
- Examine and review the material submittals propsoed by the contractor and supplier
- Study the contractor and supplier's claims for new rates
- Assist RE and Work closely with all other AREs, Material engineer, Quantity surveyor.
- Manage team of structural inspector and lab technician
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction supervision of pump stations, substation, valve chambers, wash out chambers, marine structures
- Middle East Experience working in UAE, preferably in Sharjah
- Preference will be given to candidate having prior approval of UAE Ministry of Public Works & Arabic speaking
- Degree in Civil Engineering (Alternative: Diploma, but with minimum 20 years experience)
Degree Required:
- Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
