Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

An excellent opportunity with one of the largest marine terminal operators in the world based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Accountabilities:
- To supervise and assist Mechanical Technicians in carrying out maintenance repairs, fault finding and monitoring of Equipments for smooth functioning of port operations.
- To ensure maximum operational availability of Equipment by diagnosing and specifying repair methods.
- To submit routine inspection and monitoring reports for management review and decision making.
- To select the correct spare parts and obtain technical information from the manufactures parts, technical manuals and drawings.
- To optimally allocate jobs and report breakdown and faults by carrying out preventive maintenance to avoid wastage in time, cost and resources.
- To correctly feed back all maintenance and repair works information using both written paper works and computer systems.
- To raise requisitions for spare parts required for equipment on repair / maintenance job and forwarding same to the Supervisor.
- To undertake work in a safe manner in compliance with safety regulations and procedures as defined by DP World.
- To keep the Mechanics informed of progress and problems to ensure smooth flow of communication.
- To supervise updating of information for input into the CMMS System in an accurate manner.
- To maintain tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment thereby creating a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Training course in maintenance of heavy equipment.
- 2-4 years experience in working on equipment in heavy industries like Port, Mines, Steel and Manufacturing Plants out of which 2 years should have worked in the Maintenance/Repair Workshop.
- To know how to use measuring and special mechanical tools, understanding of mechanical gearboxes, understanding of Hydraulic systems and drawings.
