The Role


The Role


Responsible for the support in the delivery of major/highly complex information/ technology projects that are part of the strategic, key technology direction within specific IT functional area. This includes, project planning, resource and budget management and overall project administration, as well as key contact point for business in the identification of issue resulution. Provides support to the Project Manager as required.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in the delivery of technology enabling change initiative projects and IT deliverables in high priority, medium or strategic level for respective IT functional area
• Help develop functional specifications, project approvals, RFPs, TOR and other project related documentation within scope of the subject matter of the project
• Review solutions provided by vendors against the project requirement
• Assist the business in understanding system functionality
• Agree SLAs for project delivery and ensure that they are met
• Investigate issues reported by the business and manage the identification of the resolution with internal IT or the vendor
• Support with the overall project administration – management of project plan and project reporting
• Support with coordination of project documentation: transition documents, technical document procedures etc
• Support in the review and/or select vendors and monitor contract compliance and project deployment as required
• Support the project manager with the project transition from project to production and successful handover to production support team.
• Provide support to the SIT process and ensure UAT assistance is provided to the business.
• Support in the provision of technology based information, such as system performance dashboards, service levels and issue resolution to the business
• Work with IT risk and Control to ensure that project performance measures and metrics are in place
• Review and ensure that no critical high audit findings are live on a project. Manage mitigating action as required.
• Support the Project Manager and work with the business as a partner to understand the business unit’s technology requirements and assist in translating these requirements into IT project deliverables
• Liaise with the business re troubleshooting and new initiatives
• Deliver to a standard of fast resolution of problems, demonstrated by a service-orientated mindset throughout the team.
• Coordinate with system analyst IT teams (internal and external) as required for project delivery
• Manage work allocation, and problem resolution including driving and motivating personnel towards achievement of specific objectives and departmental goals as required.
• Ensure delivery of service levels to the bank.
• Support with the communication of project status (milestone and deliverable reporting), issues, and/or concerns with executive management, team members, and Information Technology managers.
• Communicate the customer impact and issues to the business.
• Maintain a current knowledge of technology trends and emerging, technologies and techniques which may be of benefit to the Group.

Minimum Education Level
A university degree in a technical discipline is essential.
A masters degree in a business systems related subject area would be desirable.

Professional Qualification
Project management Prince II or PMI (or equivalent) certification is highly desirable in a financial service culture preferably banking.

Experience
• At least 4-5 years in IT with a banking background with at least 1-2 years in a managerial capacity with a wide experience in management of application systems and technical systems. Strong experience in team building and leadership skills in a service culture, are required
• Working knowledge and experience of banking operations and related problems
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Knowledge and ability to apply quality control techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic an advantage
• Influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Planning, analytical and time management skills
• Experience in team building and leadership skills in a service culture, are required
• Excellent person to person communication skills.

Specific Experience - Team Leader Credit Scoring
• Extensively understand for payment and collection systems like UAEFTS, WPS, ICCS and SWIFT.
• One Implementation or support experience for Loan management system and credit scoring at a large bank.
• Have an intermediate understanding of Core banking systems.

Technical Skills
• Hands on experience on Oracle PL/SQL
• Hands on experience on preparing process flows using Visio.
