Assistant Transmission Engineer
•Carry out 7x24 managing and monitoring transmission networks (DWDM, SDH, and MW) and setting up 7x24 call centre for customers complains and issuing trouble tickets.
•End to end circuit test as part of service delivery process.
•Fault management and Troubleshooting faults and reporting them to cornered team
•Follow trouble tickets dispatch to Network Support, Network Maintenance, and Field Network Vendors
•Identifying events affecting the performance of the network
•Ensure that Customer complaints/queries are dealt within a short period to minimize the service(s) downtime and to meet all internal/External SLA.
•Operating, monitoring and troubleshooting international link (dropped local or transit via Omantel network)
•Operating, monitoring and troubleshooting international link which are going to submarine cables
•Interfacing with internal customers and external customers
•Ensure that Customers are kept up to date in advance about any anticipated outages / changes on the infrastructure that might affect their service.
•Generate and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the upper Management/Fault management about the Faults in the networks
•Provisioning new services in urgent cases
•Keep network healthy during emergency cases
•All Operation & Maintenance departments, Service Delivery, national customers and international customers
Resolving issues and maintaining high motivation levels within the team.
•Bachelor in Telecommunications or equivalent
Work Experience Required
•1 Year experience in DWDM, SDH & Microwave
Job Knowledge Required
•Requires transmission operational network knowledge
•Knowledge of network operations and maintenance, in transmission networks.
•Background in DWDM, SDH and MW networks.
•Knowledge of IP networks & Mobile networks
•Knowledge of Submarine networks
•Requires excellent writing skills in English and Arabic.
•Communication skills in both English and Arabic are mandatory for this position.
•Good problem solving skills
•Working in shift (Morning/Afternoon/Night)
•Customer interfacing background, as well as oral and written communication skills.
