Company
Our client is an Islamic wholesale bank they are recognised as an industry leader in banking. They are currently looking for an Associate – Operations to be based in Bahrain

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Operations in managing the operational support to all the business lines of the Bank including Treasury, Private Equity and Finance.
Manage the processing of Treasury transactions.
Manage the processing of Asset Management activities including determination of net asset valuations, processing of subscriptions and disposals, fund accounting and corporate actions, local and international brokerage, Discretionary Portfolio Management, and IPO’s.
Manage the processing of Private Equity transactions including the requirements for special purpose vehicle set-up and maintenance.
Manage various other investment processing requirements.
Manage the automated payments functionality using the new core banking system and SWIFT.
Manage deal confirmations and review and management of the Bank’s nostro accounts.
Prepare the accounting entries for executed Treasury deals, investment acquisitions, payments processed, etc.
Fully aware of month end closing.
Maintain full understanding of Islamic treasury products settlements.
Assist the business areas in the set up of new products, completing the configuration and parameterization of the core banking system.
Control the set up of customer accounts and liaise with Compliance and the business areas regarding the completion of Know Your Customer on the core system.
Act as operational custodian for the Bank’s core system, liaising with IT, Finance and all other business areas, in managing the system effectively.
Complete the core system maintenance requirements especially with regard to ‘static’ and other data requirements including customer limit maintenance.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

B.Sc. in Accounting is the minimum qualification required.
The job holder must possess at least five years relevant experience with reputable investment banking institutions.
Middle East Experience
Fluency in Arabic & English
