Our client is one of the world's foremost hospitality and entertainment groups, with an enviable reputation for offering luxury to wealthy clients. They operate numerous high specification hotel casinos in a number of locations around the world. They are renowned for ensuring each of their properties is absolutely first class.

Within Macau, they operate one of the top casino destinations - a casino hotel that has approximately 800 bedrooms and an internal staff of circa 6,000 employees. They are now looking for the highest calibre individual to join them in the key role of Assistant Director of their property operations. This role reports into the Director of Property Operations and is responsible as second in command for the preventative and reactive maintenance and the facilities management for the entire property.

The Assistant Director of Property Operations will be 2IC for a total workforce of 250 people, split down into 6 different departments, with each department run by a department head. Departments include electrical, mechanical, Fire Services and Horticulture. The individual needs to be able to both have a strategic overview of the whole property and it's needs, as well as the ability to be on top of what is happening in each department and area. Key to the success of the role is the ability to not only create comprehensive work processes, but also challenge them as well, to ensure that the property is running at it's optimum.

In an ideal world, our client would like this individual to be bilingual in Cantonese and English, as many of the 250 staff are Cantonese speakers. However, for strong candidates, they will overlook this.

The position is offered on a three year fixed contract with the option to extend. The salary on offer is circa US$130-140k per annum (taxed at Macau income rate of 6%) plus accommodation allowance and other benefits.

Requirements

To be of the requisite level of experience for this role, candidates applying must be able to demonstrate the following experience:
* Engineering background in electrical or mechanical disciplines
* Extensive background in property / facilities management
* High end hospitality experience in sectors such as multi-site hotels, airlines, exhibitions / convention centres
* Key experience on preventative and reactive maintenance
* Degree qualified in a technical or engineering discipline
* Clear progression through the career ranks
* Stable career history with internationally recognised blue-chip organisations. Candidates with too many career moves will NOT be considered.
* Both a big picture thinker and a hands on individual
* Politically astute and able to involve all stakeholders
* Professional and charismatic, with a strong communication style
* Flexible & versatile, with the attitude that anything can be achieved
* A role model and leader, but approachable and easy going
* International experience, ideally in Asia.
