Position Summary

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an accomplished Audio Visual Senior Engineer to join the NYUAD Technology Group (NYUAD-TG).  The Group is NYUAD's central organization for technology-based services supporting faculty, students, staff, and administrators. NYUAD-TG provides computer, network, telephony and Internet services to the entire NYUAD community.

The Audio Visual Senior Engineer role has a direct impact on the A/V services delivered to the business in support of staff, faculty and researchers for all of NYUAD, and will be responsible for ensuring that the NYUAD A/V systems are performing efficiently and effectively as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and maintain the operation of the Audio Visual software, hardware and configuration throughout the NYUAD campus, including overall performance and capacity of the NYUAD A/V systems
* Deploy the release of new technologies as well as; designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of A/V operating systems, related utilities and hardware
* Troubleshoot complex problems as reported by users
* Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products working closely with NYU colleagues and architects
* Oversee all new installs, upgrades, patching and changes to the A/V infrastructure and systems
* Develop standard operating procedures for maintenance, housekeeping and changes to the A/V systems and infrastructure
* Develop and report on metrics for the performance of the A/V systems

Requirements

Education requirements (essential):

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or relevant industry experience

Education requirements (desirable)

* ITIL Foundation

Experience requirements (essential)

* 3 to 5 years of IT work experience
* High level of expertise in multiple system environments
* Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment shifting priorities.
* Excellent English communications skills (verbal and written)
* Self-starter who can find and resolve issues pertaining A/V systems and infrastructure
* Knowledge of A/V Systems and Infrastructure
* Ability to write technical documentation and create management reports and metrics
* Demonstrate the ability to be a team player

Experience requirements (desirable)

* Demonstrate good customer facing skills with abilities to achievement success and must have a solid understanding of a ""services business"" in a high-tech environment
* Broad knowledge of computer, network and A/V systems
* ITIL Service Management knowledge and experience
