Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Assist the ENT Specialists as required.
Refer patients to a physician or surgeon if medical treatment is determined necessary.
Adhere to the ethical standards of the speech-language-hearing profession, established rules, regulations and laws.
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date patient records as required.
Ensure that all Audiometric equipment is used and maintained in a safe manner.
Ensure the working environment including all equipment, fixtures and fittings are maintained to acceptable standards of appearance, function and cleanliness.
Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to the area, and contribute to further policy development, maintenance and review.
Respond to reports, ensuring that a prompt and appropriate response is made in accordance with best practice and procedures.
Seek out opportunities to improve service quality.
Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of knowledge, skills and abilities as may be delegated or assigned by senior staff.
Function in a multicultural environment.
Liaise with all other departments.
Contribute towards Quality Improvement and Infection Control Standards as per the policies of the hospital.
Participate in Continuous Professional Development.
Contribute positively towards the corporate image of the company

Requirements

Qualified in audiology from an accredited educational institute.
Holding a current license, registration, or certificate to practice.
Holding licensure/certification in the country where the qualification was obtained.
English proficiency programs, if the language of instruction of the audiology technology program is not in English.
Must have at least three years of experience working in a hospital setting.
Must be able to perform Subjective Audiometry, Objective Audiometry including ABRs and OAEs, and Speech Audiometry.
Must be competent to administer and interpret a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination tests.
Must be able to evaluate test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information.
Must be able to plan and implement prevention, habilitation, or rehabilitation services, including hearing aid selection and orientation, counseling, auditory training, lip reading, language habilitation, speech conservation, and other treatment programs developed in consultation with close coordination with other professionals.
Time Management Skills.
Should be Customer Service oriented.
Excellent Communication Skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills.
A team worker and function effectively under pressure.
Proficient in English language and Arabic will be an advantage.
Have basic computer skills.
