Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the EPRA, providing assurance to the EPRA and Senior Regional Management for the safe GDP conformant operation of all Aviation services in the Region

Overall responsibilities include:

Assurance to the Entity Person Responsible for Aviation and Senior Regional Management for the safe operation of all services in Region including conformance with the Aviation GDP

Participate in Global Aviation reviews (where agreed with GHoA) as an observer to assure understanding, verification and closure of all outstanding review report recommendations

Coordinate a work schedule that will meet the needs of planned and unplanned safety reviews.

Continuous monitoring of contracted aviation providers for safety compliance to BP's GDP standards.

Provide specialized aviation safety oversight inspections, safety meeting, and corrective action reports for aviation operation, aircraft and facilities (Region and contractors) to ensure safety performance standards are met.

Liaise closely with EAA and SAA to ensure lessons learned, best practice and legislative information is shared and implemented.

Advise, monitor and ensure that appropriate Management of Change processes are employed (Region and contractors) when major projects are undertaken i.e. introduction of new technology / processes / facilities etc.

Anticipate, identify, evaluate, and review aviation safety performance and practices to ensure that the

HSE & aviation safety performance standards are implemented in compliance with all government regulations, BP Aviation Group Defined Practice (GDP), OGP Aviation Management Guidelines, and OEM & industry standards.

Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of control methods, standard practices, and implementation of HSE & aviation safety performance standards.

Provide technical aviation expertise in the provision of risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses in aviation operations to assist and support all aspects of Regional operations.

Work with approved aviation service providers and give continuous support to improve their SMS programs, SMS culture and personnel to meet OGP and GDP standards, Company expectations, vision, and mission.

Requirements

Appropriate degree and / or equivalent professional aviation pilot or engineering qualification.

At least 15 years aviation experience with proven track record of aviation management.

Working experience in the Middle East
