Job description / Role
Overall Responsibilities:
• Development and implementation of Data Integration (ETL) and BI programs within the team to support different domains of business and different initiatives including analytics, data mining, modeling and profiling to turn legacy data into information and actionable metrics
• Work with the Business Analytics Reporting team to implement new functionality to support business needs.
• Develop, maintain and support the data exchange process between Data Warehouse and corporate / suppliers ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Importing client data files into SQL/2008 and experience of processing large data files.
• Writing scripts, functions and stored procedures using SQL 2008 with performance tuning.
• Performing quality assurance checks.
• Performing databases checks to ensure data integrity.
• Provide technical support and respond to error reports, problems or questions.
• Adhere to defined SLAs for project delivery.
Requirements
Skills and Knowledge:
• Years of experience: 5+ years.
• BS / BA in Computer Science or related discipline required.
• At least 5 years of technical experience with databases, data warehousing and BI tools .
• 3 years of experience with ETL tool SAP-Data service (Business Objects DI).
• 3 years Microsoft SQL Database experience.
• Experience with reporting and analytics tools OLAP tools will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and technology data modeling (dimensional/snowflake), SQL, query optimization, data warehouse architecture.
• Experience with setup, configuration, design best practices, performance optimization, team based development approaches is a must.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Well organized and able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced demanding environment.
• Attention to detail and quality; excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new tools and applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to business users and management.
• Knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
