Employment: Full Time

STR Global in partnership with a Project Management Company in Doha is recruiting for a BIM Coordinator.

The Role:

This role is to provide expert advice and guidance to the Project Management Company (PMC) and also the Main Contractor on contractual and technical implications of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).

You will be holding a position of interface on a daily basis directly with Main Contractor to enable the collection, production, coordination and maintenance of data.

Principal Accountabilities within the role:

• Influencing Main Contractors standards, methodology and procedures and BIM execution plan for the collection, production, coordination and maintenance of data including:

• Contractual and technical expertise on Building Information Modelling (BIM); Computer Aided Design (CAD); and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).

• Increasing the quality of data collected and produced by the main contractor in order to reduce engineering risk, defects and construction waste.

• To protect the program

• To oversee the Main contractor’s implementation and configuration of a common data environment to enable the collaborative production and management of engineering design data.

• Assessment/development of the capability and competence of Main contractor to meet/deliver BIM requirements.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience required
• Degree and/or Higher National qualifications related to architecture, engineering or construction.
• Specialist knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
• Specialist knowledge of the collaborative processes defined in BS1192
• Working knowledge of Engineering Content Management Systems (ECMS), e.g. Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk Vault
• Working knowledge of data/information exchange protocols.
• Working knowledge of relevant British and ISO industry standards.
• Working knowledge of engineering contracts, preferably FIDIC
• Knowledge of IT and network infrastructure principles.
• Knowledge of risk management principles.

• Ability to build effective working relationships, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.

Experience required:
• 5 years experience of managing BIM processes on large multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
• 5 years experience of assessing BIM capability and competence.
• 10 years functional management of large numbers of multi-disciplinary engineers.
• 10 years experience of building relationships with, and influencing, a range of people at all levels within and outside the organisation.
• 10 years experience of initiating and managing the change process within large organisations.
• 10 years functional management of large numbers of multi-disciplinary engineers.
• 10 years experience of providing professional and technical advice, guidance and support.
• 10 years experience of carrying out technical document review and analysis.
• 10 years experience of working in a construction or engineering environment.
• 10 years Preferred experience in Railway/Metro environment.
