BIM Manager

Job description / Role

As the host for the Q2022 World Cup, Qatar will be the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme will be part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure, competition and noncompetitive venues.

QPM is part of the programme management (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition venues, training sites, associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works.

Job Purpose:
Building Information Support

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Supporting programme wide implementation and uptake of BIM technologies and processes
- Extracting information from existing BIM models for different BIM uses
- Auditing BIM models and objects through lifecycle
- Developing programme wide BIM initiatives under the direction of a BIM Manager
- Developing drawing and model templates and model validation rule sets
- Liaising with other disciplines and departments
- Adhering to programme BIM standards and quality control procedures

Requirements

- Degree in BA Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent with 10 years work experience
- Have experience with Autodesk, Tekla, Solibri and Bentley applications on live projects
- Experienced in 3D modelling, quantity take-offs, drawing production and associated BIM uses
- Experienced in the use of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) schema and COBie
- Flexible in adopting new technologies and processes
- Able to work without excessive supervision
- Able to work as part of a team, liaising with project team members
