Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

1. JOB PURPOSE
Implement and Maintain the Ground Services Baggage Policies and Procedures of QR, adhering to all the laid down Rules and Regulations.

2. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operational
• Incorporate all new changes from all concerned departments and IATA's baggage resolution working group into the GOM/GSM as required.
• Conduct spots checks with regards to Ground Services Standards and Procedures and submit a summarised report to SOPP.
• Coordinate wherever a new station is to be opened and ensure relevant Baggage resolutions information is collected and distributed to all relevant internal parties (SOSP, Cargo, Catering, YM, etc) to be in place 30 days prior to launch date.
• Issue, review and circulate new Baggage bulletins or Airport Procedures (e.g. Royal wedding. Events, Special flights, QRG-GOM). Latest by 7 days prior to effective.
• Coordinate and review with QR's Industry Affairs, IATA's Baggage Services Manual, Warsaw and Montreal Conventions to accordingly make amendments to the Baggage chapters of the Ground Services Manual.
• Prepare and submit to SOSP the respective Airport Procedures draft for circulation. Quarterly review with concerned departments and draft necessary TOI for SOPP's approval within 7 days
• Review baggage compensation policy in accordance with IATA conventions, QR customer Care and QA legal and propose the best economical and customer friendly procedure.
Management
• Participate in specially designed working groups to assist Sr. Policy & Procedures Officer in implementation and issuance of New Baggage Policies & Procedures, Temporary Operating Instructions, Bulletins, Standard and/or Local operating procedures whenever required.

3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Qualifications:
• A high school leaving certificate or aviation related management qualification
• Graduate

Previous Experience:
• 5-7 years experience in an Airline/Ground Handling Company within the Ground Services Preferred
Job Specific Skills:
• Fluent in Spoken and Written English
• Intermediate Ms Office Computer Literacy
• Fluent in Baggage Handling procedures
• Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills
• Sound Knowledge of Aircraft Handling
