Job description / Role
• Responsible for managing the entire Batch Plant & Furnace operation by supervising the staff, defining operating instructions and providing required technical support.
- Responsible for organising raw materials unload, storage, use, inventory and order. Organise cullet processing.
- Monitor batch activity, implementation of batch formulas provided by Central Glass Melting Direction and overall batch parameters so to ensure chemical and physical quality.
- Set and check furnace parameters so to ensure consistency in melt glass quality and pull, and energy costs optimisation.
- Provide-hands on approach with a technical bias for decision making and action.
• Manage safety for personnel and production tool, with full responsibility in case of power or gas outage or any unpredictable events. Continuously care for energy back-up (fuel, LPG,…) and people training for emergency situations.
• Responsible for quality checks, preventive and corrective actions, as well as documentation control. Ensure respect for instructions given and feedback for results.
• Manage automation, instrumentation and control of the machines with the help of maintenance team. Interact with to execute the corrective, preventive and periodic maintenance activities to maintain the equipment in perfect running condition (including loading equipments).
• Agree on doing all other tasks that may be required for plant efficient operation.
Requirements
• BE or Degree / Graduate in Engineering Discipline. Good technical knowledge in physics, chemistry, electricity / automatisms, and Science of heat.
• Over 8 years of glass furnace operation in a quality minded company, with solid knowledge of the production tools and processes. High pull furnace in container industry preferred.
• Management background required, ideally in an ISO certified QMS environment.
• Familiar with IT tools and Industrial supervision softwares.
• Calm, rigor and honesty.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with English language spoken, written and understood.
• Other Management skills : team building, problem solving.
