Employment: Full Time

• This role is part of the Business Development team whose purpose is to focus on business acquisition with existing.
• The Bid Manager will work within the business winning capability and provide support throughout the business winning process (phase 0-2A). The Bid Manager will be the driving force in the bid team, empowered with full responsibility for the bid process and reporting to the respective BD Manager for the duration of the bid. The Bid Manager will be responsible for the motivation and management of the bid team.
• The Bid Manager will be made responsible at the Phase 1B review (but involved in planning, typically from 1A) for leading the Bid/Proposal team, reporting to the Capture Manager. Implements the Bid/Proposal Management Plan with primary responsibility for Bid/Proposal governance compliance, the management of formal Proposals and associated review material

Listed below are some of the typical activities undertaken, however this is not intended to be a fully comprehensive list:
• Leads all aspects of the planning and execution of the overall Proposal development effort, including all “selling” materials delivered to the Customer
• Leads and manages the Bid/Proposal Team through all Bid/Proposal aspects of Capture activities, including, budget administration, resource and facilities estimation and development and execution of the Bid/Proposal Management Plan.
• Defines/tailors and implements a suitable Bid/Proposal process to fit the Opportunity, integrating the solution refinement/freeze with the Proposal development activities
• Ensures RFP requirements are identified and addressed, determines appropriate Proposal document structure and conducts storyboard and win theme development activities
• Prepares and trains Bid/Proposal Team members as required, especially Volume Leaders, in the Bid/Proposal process methods to ensure understanding and adherence to the process, practices and schedule established for the Bid/Proposal
• In coordination with the Capture Manager, selects reviewers and schedules/organises key Bid/Proposal reviews to assure Proposal quality and compliance, together with consistency across the Proposal and associated plans and review material
• Manages the business approval process, any security and export approvals and the final editing, production and Proposal delivery arrangements. Ensures configuration control of all key proposal documentation and ensures effective communication of changes to key stakeholders.
• Manages any re-submission or clarification activities through to contract award (LCM Phase 2B)
• May manage junior bid/proposal centre staff

Requirements

In depth knowledge of the Defence industry is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of export contracting.
Extensive knowledge of understanding, influencing, creating and tracking Customer Requirements
within Business Winning.
A working knowledge of;
- Offset and Export Finance
- Capture Planning & Execution
- Customer and stakeholder relationship management.
Experience in the application of Business Winning Processes, policies, tools and Approvals including use of LCM (Phase 0 - 2B)
A working knowledge of the business functions and their respective roles and responsibilities.
Experienced in the generation of bidsand clearance through the RBA process.
Experience of dealing with senior team members Director Level.
Experience of dealing with senior vendor personnel and senior personnel within the Customer community.
