The RoleThe RoleCharterhouse Partnership is currently working with a leading oil and gas company who are looking for an experienced Lawyer to join as a bilingual Legal Counsel (Arabic and English) and provide legal support to their businesses in Iraq. The successful candidate will be based in Dubai but may require some travel to Iraq. This is an excellent opportunity for a private practice Lawyer to move in house and to work within a blue chip company gaining experience within the oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for identifying legal risks, providing sound legal advice and ensuring that all legal documents reflect commercial decisions. You will be required to represent third parties in negotiations, instruct and manage external counsel with the litigation team as well as draft and review a variety of legal documentation. |
RequirementsRequirementsAs a Legal Counsel you should be an experienced corporate and commercial Lawyer, having previously worked within an international business or law firm. Our client will only consider Iraqi Nationals for this position; previous oil and gas experience is preferred however not essential. You will be a law graduate with a minimum of three to seven years PQE and solid experience at a law firm or in house environment. You should have spent a considerable time in Iraq and overseas in order to understand how business operates in Iraq. Only those who speak fluent Arabic will be considered as you will be expected to develop a network rapidly enabling you to deal with Iraqi issues efficiently. |
