Brand Identity Designer / Brand Development Expert

Our client is a boutique creative / branding agency and we specialise in brand development and increasing profits for our clients. Our strengths lie in determining the psychological message or big idea that our clients-clients would want to perceive about our client company and then we design the visual language according to that big idea. This visual language may include business cards and logo design through to how the website could look or the brochures could be developed.

We have worked on many corporate identities and help our clients establish brands that allow them to stabilise their corporate image in the market, improve business, communicate with their clients and ultimately improve profits. We are an informal but successful team of branding specialists and try to have as much fun as possible along the way.

The Senior Designer is charged with determining the best ways for us to visually represent all of our client brands. This visual representation must be driven by the brand strategy developed for the brand. It also involves working with internal and external clients, pitching designs, and understanding client needs. We will require you to develop visual designs based on the big idea and relevant research, and at other times, the Senior Designer will be responsible for recruiting and managing internal design resources.

Responsibilities:
- Lead creative sessions for project kick-offs
- Manage multiple projects from concept through to completion
- Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy
- Establish creative direction for the entire line of online services and programs
- Supervise and inspire the creative team (in-house or sub contracted) to generate multiple concepts for a campaign or project
- Work with the strategy and occasionally copywriters to develop concepts and present to management
- Work with internal teams to generate ideas for pitching and proposals
- Manage team members
- Provide quality control over concepts and projects,

Requirements

- Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related field or equivalent visual design and management experience required; graduate degree preferred
- At least 5 years design experience working with large-scale web sites, brand development, and advertising clients
- Must possess an ability to visualise and predetermine aspects of end design, at the concept stage and the logic behind it. E.g. Colour, Typography, Image Styling etc.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of the web
- A strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, interactive commerce and creative process
- Print and web design capabilities: must know how to work in both media for integrated brands
- Must understand conversion of design into print ready processes
- Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Apply best practices in user interface and interactive design, including image optimization and site mapping
- Experience with software such as In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator is essential flash would be helpful
- A Basic knowledge of HTML, DHTML CSS, Action script & Drupal would be helpful but not necessary
- Ability to make evaluative judgments
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
