The RoleThe Role Government Infrastructure Works Location: Doha, Qatar Excellent Tax Free Salary Package + Benefits As the portfolio of infrastructure projects in Qatar continues to expand, so too our employer, a respectable public works authority with the responsibility of implementing the program, is looking to expand their ranks within their architectural building division. With long term prospects providing stability and career development, our employer is looking to appoint a highly experienced Design Advisor Building specialist to the team to support the growth and development of their design business. Reporting dually to the Manager of Design Department and the Senior Advisor for Building Affairs and working as part of the Building Design Department, your responsibilities in the role will include: Development and Implementation of a Gateway Design Program. Review and Monitoring of Architectural and Engineering details, codes and quality control. Development and Implementation of a Design Change Program. Design Staff Assessments and Workload Distribution. Development and Administration of Design and Construction Supervision Consultant Contracts. Development of Project Budgets, Design Schedules and Tracking. Management of Design issues with Clients and Government Ministries. Management of Sustainable Design Program. Review and Development of Construction Tender Documents. Confirm status of all design section projects to senior management. Peer review of projects and department KPIs including implementation of a staff Architectural and Professional Peer Education/Enhancement Program |
RequirementsRequirements Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Architecture with 20 years to senior professional architecture level. Candidates must possess hands on responsibility of in house design staff for 5-10 years and design consultant management experience for 5-10 years. Candidates will ideally possess 10-15 years private sector experience and a further 5-10 years public sector experience. Experience with Medical and Educational Projects is preferred with knowledge of BIM, Primavera and Sustainable Design is highly desirable. English languages skills are essential with Arabic language abilities being a plus (but not essential). Candidates must have elevated to the level of Associate Director, VP or Director level within a consulting capacity to be considered for this role.
