Building Surveyor

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading international construction consultancy has an urgent requirement for an experienced Building Surveyor to provide Building Surveyor services across a broad spectrum of the Building Surveyor product range based on personal experience and professional training
To take responsibility for the delivery of small to medium sized projects and professional assignments
To support the Senior Building Surveyor in the delivery of a large project or assignment
To mentor and support Trainees and Graduates in their professional development
To be able to take a simple brief from a client and act upon it. Capable of taking a Building Surveyor assignment from conception through to completion with limited supervision
Be a team player and integral member of their business unit

Requirements

To be competent in the following key Building Surveyor activities which will allow the delivery of these assignments working with minimal supervision:
Acquisition surveys - non complex buildings
Condition surveys
Building re-instatement valuations
Defect Diagnosis/ building pathology
Maintenance work
Building project works - refurbishment and extension
Construction design and management
To achieve an understanding of the following BS activities, which will allow to deliver an assignment with a greater level of supervision:
Dilapidations
Party Walls
Procurement strategies for small projects and maintenance works
Should have a relevant surveying degree from a Western University and ideally be currently based in the Middle East
