Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Plan, direct and supervise MEP works in assigned area and discipline to review and monitor project progress and completion in accordance with overall project plan. Coordinate with consultants and contractors in the assigned area to ensure compliance with Budget, Quality, Schedule and HSE requirements.

• MEP installation activities for road works with associated lighting (PWA/Ashghal)
• Chilled water reticulation system including earthwork, pipe laying, chambers, backfill, testing, leak detection system
• Foul sewage water system including earthwork, pipe laying, manholes, backfill, testing (PWA/Ashghal)
• Potable water system including earthwork, pipe laying, backfill, chambers, testing (Kahramaa)
• Fire water system including earthwork, pipe laying, backfill, hydrants, chambers, testing (QCDD)
• Storm water system including earthwork, pipe laying, backfill, storm water tank with pumping and filtration system, testing, (PWA/Ashghal)
• Irrigation water system including earthwork, pipe laying, chambers, backfill, sprinkler systems & controls, testing, (PWA/Ashghal)
• Communication system including earthwork, duct laying, chambers, backfill
• Potable/fire water storage reservoir and pumping station
• Irrigation water storage reservoir and pumping station
• Schedule the MEP engineering activities in logical steps and budget time and resources required to meet deadlines.
• Study MEP engineering specifications to determine appropriate construction methods, alternative analysis and implementation plans.
• Review MEP engineering work to monitor compliance with building specifications, safety codes and other regulations.
• Help in requisitioning supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
• Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site which include overall risk management actions.
• Confer with contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
• Assist in managing scope, schedule and budget changes as necessitated by the change control system.
• Ensure appropriate usage and application of the Project Management System (PMS) with respect to entry and analysis of work related data for day to day functioning to facilitate seamless communication of all relevant (technical/non-technical) information across the organization on a real time basis for maximum effectiveness.
• Communicates with Technical departments and Consultant staff to determine problems and recommend solutions.
• Develops creative solutions and alternatives for specific problems in manufacturing/installation process.
• Assisting with planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Generate solutions that require development or sustainment of new or improved technical solution, procedures, or products.
• Ensure timely preparation of various progress and cost tracking reports.
• Present reports to management and client as required.
• Monitor and anaylze reports on scope, quality, cost, and time to determine if the project is on track.
• Follow up with relevant parties for corrective, preventive and defect repair actions.
• Gather and store documentation for claims management.
• Coordinate with design, QA/QC, HSE and procurement teams on construction and progress aspects for assigned area.
• Liaise with project parties and client for critical decisions as required.
• Provide appropriate inputs to all suppliers and subcontractor in related to MEP construction and engineering at assigned project site.
• Synergize with the project commissioning team to ensure that all projects are meticulously commissioned to deliver world class standards of quality to QPM clients
• Maintain professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry.
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices in PMC.
• Adapt and adopt leading construction management concepts and best practices into QPM.
• Ensure compliance of all project work with various government and market requirements, specifically 100% HSE and environmental laws’ compliance.
• Appropriately manage labour disputes or issues concerned with the MEP engineering jobs and subcontractors

Requirements

Graduate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with more than 10-14 years experience in Infrastructure engineering specifically relating to MEP systems and hands-on site supervision and a minimum of 7 years of project experience a medium to large Project Management company.

• Knowledge of MEP practices, codes and standards necessary to be successful.
