Business Analyst - IFKC

Deloitte Islamic Finance Knowledge Centre is a thought leadership think-tank focused on providing innovative intellectual and practical programs, for Islamic finance leaders and institutions and leads the practice development in Middle East region and coordinates with Deloitte's member firms globally. Its activities include:

-Develop practice across the MENA region and support Deloitte's Islamic financial service offerings
-Provide internal and client's training and Islamic finance education
-Conduct leading market and regulatory research and thought leadership
-Promote professional excellence and best practices through different awareness programs
The responsibilities of the "Business Analyst" include:

-Co-drive Deloitte IFKC thought leadership function in ME and co-oversee knowledge-building initiatives in close collaboration with the Director of Deloitte IFKC.
-Oversee implementation of the IFKC action plans to deliver the Competency-based Knowledge (CBK) approach (as defined in the IFKC business model and strategy).
-Make intellectual contributions to knowledge efforts through problem structuring, market research and analysis.
-Proactively create and develop independent assessments of the Islamic finance practice's knowledge gaps.
-Manage day-to-day knowledge and business efforts, effectively to drive thought leadership initiatives.
-Devise and implement an effective function & process for research and Islamic finance intelligence.
-Build the IFKC library of relevant industry standards reviews, reports, publications, webcasts, etc.
-Design market strategy and follow up implementations to meet targets and revenue plans.
-Assist Director in proactively identifying new clients, and build relations with key industry regulators, institutions and self-regulatory bodies across the region.
-Carry out market segmentation and analysis to identify opportunities and resources required.
-Prepare pre-proposals documents, market analysis and industry reviews.
-Provide client support in professional training, capacity building and education.

Requirements

In this role, the candidate will serve as a business analyst. He or she will co-lead industry research and mange projects carried out by the Deloitte IFKC. The candidate is also expected to play a central role in business development and managing the IFKC projects. The right candidate is also expected to support a strategy of a knowledge management function which aims to support Deloitte's service lines and grow the Deloitte Islamic finance practice, capabilities and credentials.

Knowledge, qualifications and competencies required:

-The role serves as the second point person of the IFKC core practice activities and therefore must demonstrate excellent strategic capabilities, a strong sense of entrepreneurship, and an ability to engage effectively with service lines practitioners (client-facing professionals).
-These abilities must be balanced by managerial skills to ensure efficient operations on a day-to-day basis.
-Advanced numerical and financial skills, a strong understanding of the relevant research methodologies, microeconomic and Islamic finance practice-specific frameworks.
-Degree in Banking/Finance is required and an MBA in Islamic Finance is an advantage.
-Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
-Project Management Skills:
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of IFKC projects.
-Create and execute research project plans and revise as appropriate to changing needs.
-Identify and manage resources and budget needed for IFKC core activities.
-Minimise IFKC exposures and risk on different projects and maintain quality assurance.
