Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the business continuity plan in coordination with the Risk and other relevant functions within Ashghal in order to ensure that effective arrangements are in place to respond to any incident and prevent any unexpected internal/external scenario or disaster from disturbing the continuity of business operations.
• Lead the development of business impact analysis with relevant functions to identify critical business processes and functions that must be available in the event of a disruption.
• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity processes, procedures, and functions in order to ensure the availability and continuity of the critical business functions at all times.
• Maintain, review, and monitor the implementation of the Business Continuity processes, procedures, and functions in order to ensure that the necessary measures are in place and communicated to prevent any unexpected incident from disturbing the continuity of business operations and enable the business to respond in a timely and effective manner to any potential incident.
• Lead the identification and establishment of disaster recovery site if required in coordination with IT and other relevant functions in order to mitigate the risks in the event of a disaster or operational disruption.
• Maintain the operational effectiveness and readiness of the disaster recovery site through conducting regular inspections and ensuring that all information and data can be stored safely, so that the integrity and confidentiality of Ashghal institutional memory is fully protected and easily restored in the event of disaster or incident.
• Ensure that that the recovery capabilities meet the business requirements through conducting regular testing in coordination with IT and analyzing the future business needs, so that the decisions related to the design and procurement of the new recovery infrastructure are facilitated by key inputs and facts.
• Ensure maintaining a log of incidents and review reports before presenting to the top management to ensure they are comprehensive and accurate in their key findings and provide value added recommendations for improvements of the business continuity plans.
• Lead the documentation, assessment, and reporting of operational risks that could negatively impact the continuity of key businesses processes and functions and recommend mitigation plans to process owners and other relevant functions to maintain the availability and protection of Ashghal business operations.
• Conduct regular testing of BCP to validate that recovery capabilities meet business requirements.
• Serve as an educational resource for management by keeping them informed on legislation, trends and other issues in the Business Continuity that might affect the bank’s effectiveness, responsibility to stakeholders and vulnerability to risk.
• Promote Ashghal-wide business continuity awareness and communicate BCP to all stakeholders to ensure that the organization is prepared to deal with incidents and recovery of business processes takes place as per the preset guidelines.
Internal Collaboration
• Lead the coordination of recovery arrangements (e.g., temporary facilities, emergency transportation) in case of disaster, jointly with HR, IT, business lines and other relevant functions and in consultation with Ashghal management, so that all business functions are aware of the necessary procures and actions to be taken in the event of an incident or disaster.
• Lead the coordination with Risk Management to ensure identified operational risks are adequately mitigated through BCP in case of an incident.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
• Ensure compliance with the approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions and monitor employees’ adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering,or equivalent.
• Professional certification in business continuity or quality standards will be preferred.

Minimum Experience:
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience including at least 3-5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in Business Continuity.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
• Knowledge in the business continuity tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise risk management (ISO 31000)
• Knowledge in setting up disaster recovery sites.
• Knowledge in assessing the business critical processes and functions.
• Understand key risks and threats to the business continuity.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Strong relationship management.

? Arabic speaking preferred.
