Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Provide leadership required to develop and implement a comprehensive SSC Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Business Development Strategy, including identification of customer needs, market environment, and opportunity identification and qualification.
- Identify potential partnering opportunities to penetrate new Middle East markets. Assess competitive landscape.
- Maintain exceptional professional relationships with key stakeholders within Middle East governments, industry and USG organizations.
- Operate as the central Point-of-Contact (POC) within the MENA region for Lockheed Martin Space Systems. Promote team marketing and external customer satisfaction throughout LM Corporation (LM) Partner with Space Systems (SSC) Line of Business (LOB) Business Development Leaders and LM International Business Development to maintain a broad perspective of MENA customer needs and requirements.
- Assist Space Systems LOBs in winning follow-on and new business.
- Ensure coordination of SSC international efforts with related LM International/Corporate efforts, including open and quality communications with all team members (Customers, LOBs, LM Corporate Field offices, consultants, offset personnel, and Export Control).
- Pursue opportunities to leverage cross LOB and cross LM organization MENA initiatives to increase the probability of new business success. Foster Horizontal Integration across LOBs and LM International/Corporation, as appropriate.
- Evaluates and reviews consumer research, point-of-sale and syndicated data. Reports findings for major marketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function. Participates in the central development and implementation of new products, re-launches, new business building programs, sales rationale, etc. May also participate in presales or sales meetings to review proposed plans. Functions as liaison between regional sales and marketing function.Provides and/or initiates sales analysis affecting distribution, spending as it relates to volume, brand promotional strategy, and selling tools.
- Provide Non-Advocate, independent assessments of Space Systems MENA opportunities. Ensure Customer qualification, competitive assessment, and factor in U.S. Government international policies, Export Control requirements, Business Case analysis, Offset considerations and Technology Transfer to ensure opportunities are thoroughly reviewed and assessed.

Requirements

- Knowledge of and experience working with the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) Country Militaries and Commercial customers
- Relevant experience operating in a joint/coalition environment
- Experience working with and in the MENA region
- Must be able to demonstrate strong presentation skills, good oral and written communications skills, with proven ability to interface effectively with GCC military and commercial leadership
- Demonstrated team leadership that includes proven, effective decision making, building consensus, conflict resolution, and sustaining the team's energy and commitment
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel internationally and within the MENA region

Desired Skills:
- Ability to understand the customers requirements and become the "voice of the customer" to ensure customer values are firmly embedded in all Space Systems strategies
- Able to establish Customer and Industry relationships to further explore potential partners to create new capabilities and increase market share in existing and new MENA markets
- Able to see and understand MENA markets and the needs of customers derived from capability gap analysis and contribute to effective solutions
- Team player Ability to organize and motivate a diverse set of individuals to act as "one" in the pursuit of common new business objectives
- Working knowledge of Arabic (spoken and written)
- Recent and relevant experience working with USG agencies and military officials in the region
- Background in or knowledge of the primary product areas within Space Systems, including commercial communications and remote sensing satellites, military communications and remote sensing satellites, civil space, and air & missile defence
