Business Development Coordinator

An established international law firm is seeking a professional Business Development Coordinator to work alongside the BD Manager, Office Managing Partner, and local department and practice chairs to develop and implement marketing strategies and local business development programs for the office.

Responsibilities and Duties
* Works with Manager to help attorneys create timely, relevant presentation topics and plan seminars to promote attorney expertise. Helps coordinate major pitches and presentations.
* Coordinates special events such as panel/speaking engagement opportunities (seminars, receptions, group sporting events) for attorneys.
* Produces local pitch books and presentations and follow-ups with key attorneys after the pitch.
* Coordinates public relations and publicity opportunities for the client and attorneys.
* Acts as a marketing/business development resource regarding standard and customary business development practices for individual attorneys and local teams, as requested.
* Provides competitor research to assist the Manager in making recommendations for the Office.
* Assists BD staff at special events such as pane/speaking engagements, community projects, and seminars.
* Utilizes knowledge of firm intranet site and other online resources to track cases and client relationships.
* Conducts research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and librarian searches.
* Supports local BD group with general administrative tasks.
* Coordinates with other areas / departments of the firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures / communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree.
* 2-3 years experience in marketing/communications/public relations, preferably in a law firm.
* Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The individual will have sound organization skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to proofread and ensure accuracy in written materials including pitches, presentations, etc.
* Willingness to complete all tasks and learn new skills.
* Advanced knowledge in PC applications, including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Familiarity with InterAction a plus.
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
