Our client is a well established market leader in the provision of door-to-door air charter services and aviation solutions to clients worldwide. They are now seeking a Business Development Manager to open up commercial opportunities in Iraq, largely within the Oil & Gas sector.

Principal responsibility will be to win significant airfreight business from commercial organisations within Iraq – using a combination of specialist regional and long haul freighters linking Iraq to the world.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and develop a Commercial Sales and Marketing Platform & commercial set-up for Iraq based on Business Objectives, Targets and Profitability Benchmarks.
• Present the company capabilities to a wide cross section of potential customers across Iraq and ensure that target clients fully understand the service offering and benefits.
• Build and maintain relationships with Oil & Gas customers and provide attractive airfreight solutions to include door delivery in Iraq.
• Responsible for effectively managing the Sales & Marketing matrix of the Sales, Marketing, PR & Media Teams.
• Monitor Market Information and provide reports as required, including Systems updates with information on the latest news and destinations that may be of importance.
• Conduct periodic reviews of Business Objectives as well as P&L targets with the Director of Sales & Marketing and take corrective actions at an early stage.
• Coordination of special projects as defined by Sales Director.

The successful candidate will be required to possess the following:
• Sound knowledge of the Iraq Market, preferably with established contacts/networks in the commercial market of Iraq (non-military business)
• Minimum 5 years experience in managing, administering and coordinating high volume Sales in Airfreight, Logistics & Transportation and in managing after sales support.
• Able to work and travel to all areas of Iraq, plus the UAE when required
• Strong Financial Management skills with sound P&L management abilities
• Strong Leadership, Interpersonal and Cross-cultural Skills
• Fluent spoken and written English (English must be the native language)
• Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field, should be competent in MS Office (Word & Excel presentations)
