The RoleThe RoleThe Role Business Development Manager Leading global 3PL company is looking to strengthen their Freight Management team with the addition of an experienced Business Development Manager. The suitable candidate will be responsible for maintaining an existing customer database through regular sales visits, identifying new business opportunities through developing existing and new business accounts & undertaking new business sales calls to win new business responsibilities Key responsibilities include: • Manage an existing database of customers and undertake regular sales calls to each customer and ensure that the customers remain satisfied with the company’s products and services • Undertake cross selling and up-selling within existing customer base to further develop account potential through airfreight, sea freight, road freight, value added products and contract logistics. • Represent the company and its policies to the clients which are defined as “Strategic Accounts” • Define and follow up KPIs for the Strategic Accounts • Undertake sales presentations to customers and business communities to present the company’s products and services. • Develop new business through approaching new business customers • Ensure that customer specific KPI reports are presented to customers in personal reviews • Coordinate and follow up x-selling activities within the department • Responsible for development of a set Vertical / Territory • Maintain close working relationships with the Customer Service, Operations and Contract Logistics team. • Focus on winning and keeping profitable business • Work with the pricing team to ensure new business / RFQ wins |
RequirementsRequirementsSUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BASED IN THE UAE AND MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: Education and Experience Education: High School Diploma or GED required or Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline Experience: · Minimum five years related experience required in all areas of Freight – air, sea and road · Minimum three years supervisory or managerial experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: · In-depth knowledge of domestic transportation, logistics and supply chain concepts. · Knowledgeable in all modes of transportation and their costs attributes. |
