Business Development Manager - HORECA & Retail

Job description / Role

An opportunity with a multinational FMCG business that is expanding in the Middle East and North African region

Reporting to the Sales Director for the region this role will provide energy and direction to the development of the food service channel strategy for the region. Working closely with the Sales Director and as a part of a small team, the BDM will apply innovative approaches for the maximization of volumes, margin and the provision of best-in-class service to accounts/customers. You would be tasked with identifying, qualifying and appointing distributors in the region to deliver pre-determined volume and profit goals.

Requirements

- 5+ years experience in a similar role is essential in the region, ideally already based in Dubai
- A strategic business professional with a track record of profitably growing sales in a B2B environment, preferably food based hands on in HORECA & Retail channels
- Experience of launching new brands and/or own label products within a top class retail environment are critical to the success of this role.
- Excellent influencing skills from both an internal and external perspective
- High level of entrepreneurship and personal credibility and be an independent and creative business thinker with a high degree of integrity
- A strategic appreciation and vision for positioning and growing sales in this market is critical.
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Good administrative ability and attention to detail with knowledge of SAP an advantage
