Employment: Full Time

An established, global law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Middle East team. The BDM will work alongside the Senior Business Development Manager, Head of the Middle East Practice, and the partners across the Middle East office.

The purpose of the role is to plan and lead incisive and value-added business development initiatives in line with the strategy, ensure key objectives in the business plans are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Winning work
* Project manage regional strategic bids, provide input on approach, team formations; draft, create and review and edit content; manage document development where necessary; ensure adherence to branding requirements; ensure adherence to pricing procedures.
* Act as the practice ambassador for bid best practice.
* Direct and manage the Business Development Executive on supporting the lawyers with local bid production.
* Develop high quality materials for use in bids to convey positioning, experience and sales messages to clients and targets.
* Ensure follow is sought from client post pitch; track and act on actions which arise; assess how feedback can be used to drive behavioural change.
* Monitor panel appointments and drive realisation of opportunities presented.
* Analyse win/loss rates via bid dashboard tool and make recommendations as to how to improve performance.

Client Development
* Connect the Middle East practice with the global enterprise client programme and drive realisation of opportunities.
* Manage the clients within the programme and drive regional actions and international opportunities. Assess opportunities for other clients in the region and implement activity.
* Facilitate participation in client feedback programme and ensure that Middle East initiatives that could be adapted in other regions are communicated to the Global BD team as appropriate.

Business Planning
* In consultation with the Head of the Middle East practice and Team leaders, manage business planning across the Middle East offices.
* Seek opportunities to drive cross-office and regional collaboration to increase efficiencies and speed to market.
* Responsible for the management and reporting of the relevant budgets.

Profile Raising
* Work with the communications team and the PR team in London to develop the practices profile in the Middle East.
* Systematically measure performance in league tables and directories.
* Ensure the Middle East region is brand compliant and adopts visual identity to deliver consistent materials and collateral to the market.
* Ensure all communications channels are up to date and convey consistent messaging and capability presentation.

Requirements

* Graduate calibre (preferably marketing and communications discipline)
* Minimum 5 years' experience marketing and organisational experience within the following industry sectors; legal, professional services, management consultancy, engineering, and accounting.
* Builds trust amongst fee earning team and wider stakeholder community.
* Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
