Business Intelligence Manager (IT)

Job description / Role

The Business Intelligence Manager is primarily responsible for working with the business units to design data-modeling/analysis services, used to mine enterprise applications for knowledge and information that enhances business processes. This individual is responsible for:

Driving business intelligence solutions, working across organizational boundaries.
Partnering with business units to determine the best approach for leveraging information technologies and processes to solve business information needs that will enable informed decision-making

Translating users business/ information needs into strategic and tactical plans, and executing effectively

Partnering with business unit managers to prioritize information/data requirements, developing and implementing reporting strategies, including development and on-going management of Data Warehousing business solutions and Web Analytics.

Managing the full development life cycle of any data-mining initiatives.

Building, deploying, and maintaining infocubes, data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation.

Researching, evaluating, and recommending software packages for purchase and deployment; leading vendor negotiations.

Assessing and consulting on risks and the effects of specific requirements on other business processes and information system priorities

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data warehousing, web analytics, report development preferably in a consulting environment...

Experience in SAP BW /BI Netweaver , Business Objects, Portals, SAP BW 3.1 / SAP ERP 2005 / SAP 4.6C

Experience in tools such as Cognos, Informatica, Microstrategy, SPSS, SAS etc.

At least 2 years of project management experience in a Data Warehousing environment with Strong Data Warehouse architecture experience.

At least 2 years of project management experience in a Data Warehousing environment.

MBA/MIS is highly desired

A degree in Business or IT is required

Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence from the business units
