The RoleThe RoleResponsible for the purchase and/or lease of construction materials and equipment, permanent facility equipment, materials and subcontracts. Work Performed: a) Prepares written inquiries or obtains verbal or written quotes for vendor supplies items and subcontracts in compliance with requisitions and/or specifications. b) Receives at least three vendor bids, evaluates bids considering price, delivery date, past performance of vendor, etc. to determine successful bidder. c) Negotiates terms/conditions of and places purchase orders. Negotiates and issues purchase change orders. d) Expedites awarded purchase orders when necessary to insure timely delivery. e) May handle third party rental contracts and awards and terminations. Maintains files and charts all rental orders. f) Coordinates invoices problems with vendor and accounting; resolves delivery requirements with vendor and supervision. g) Prepares required documentation for each purchase order. h) Establish/maintains working contact with vendors. Meets with sales and vendor representatives as required. i) Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction. |
RequirementsRequirementsa) Completion of 4-years technical or business degree or equivalent combination of education and procurement experience. b) Minimum three years construction purchasing experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills essentials. c) Good knowledge of English. |
