Employment: Full Time

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Supervises a group of CAD technicians by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing assignments. Civil Engineering Degree Qualified and over 8 years experience in CAD is required for the position of CAD Team Lead. Schedules, conducts, or coordinates different activities of the CAD section.
Performs moderate to difficult drafting assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of drafting standards, practices, and techniques. Understands and applies Company procedures particularly as they pertain to the assigned discipline.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Schedule the activities of the CAD section.
•Provide feedback to Management regarding staffing requirements based on department schedules and loading.
•Assist the CAD Manager in accomplishing department schedule.
•Ensure the implementation of Parsons MENA CAD Standards and Quality Procedures in the CAD section.
•Advising CAD Manager of necessity of overtime to meet department milestones
•Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information.
•Develops a practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and their interrelationships.
•Develops layouts, plans, sections, elevations and details as necessary.
•Performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
•Performs drawing layout and plan drawings from sketches prepared by designers using standard CAD procedures. Draws somewhat complex details on drawings.
•Checks layout and drawings for accuracy, relationship of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole drawing.
•Makes adjustments or changes to drawings as directed during advanced planning stages and actual construction.
•Files and maintains drawings and diskettes as directed by the design supervisor; ensure proper backup and archiving.
•Consolidates routine details from various sources and adjusts or transposes to scale as necessary.
•Liaise with Engineers.
•Keep up-to-date with CAD development & software.
•Prepare and administer as-built drawings.
•May give technical guidance to lower level technicians.
•Completes additional duties as assigned.
•Assist in the training and development of junior personnel to strengthen our capability and make us more competitive in current and future markets

•Complete all drafting assignments on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
•Staffing requirements updated based on the workload.
•Improvement in the quality of work produced by CAD technicians.
•Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of the assigned personnel.
•Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as department needs arise.
•Maintain the latest drafting standards and provide necessary training to CAD personnel.
•Conduct performance evaluations, training and development for the assigned personnel.
•Standardization of all Drafting section activities.
•Provide high quality electrical design engineering inputs
•Improve engineering design efficiency
•Complete all projects on schedule and within man-hours and cost budgets.
•Increase internal/external client satisfaction.
•Improve internal/external client communications.
•Decrease client changes.

Requirements

•4 years Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 8 or more years of related work experience
•At least 5 years as a CAD Lead in design of water and wastewater projects.
•Must be proficient in software AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Benmtly Projectwise, ArcGIS, Microstaion (knowledge desired)
•Extensive and knowledgeable in personal computer skills
•Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively
•Good spoken and written in English are essential.
•Desire to train others and share knowledge
