CAD Draughtsman – Highways

Our Middle East Transport Division is looking to recruit a CAD Draughtsman - Highways for a major highway project in Qatar.

Undertake drafting work for civil engineering projects focussing on roads, highways and railways
- Prepare detailed design, shop drawings and as built drawings for civil engineering structures
- Undertake assignments on multi-disciplinary projects within teams of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
- Be able to interact positively with both senior and junior staff alike and within the client environment
- Be progressive, imaginative and enthusiastic in the work and strive to add value where possible for the benefit of the company and our clients
- Be prepared to spend periods working away from base either in client offices, on project sites within the Group's operations.

Requirements

- Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Must have experience on the use of computer aided drafting software, and be proficient in Micro station, AutoCAD and especially the use of x-refs, blocks, layers and be confident enough to become conversant in Mott MacDonald and our clients' drawing standards and procedures
- Familiarity in 3D modelling and visualisation. Experience in the production of 3-D modelled BIM schemes 2012 and AutoCAD 2012 and Micro station is preferred
- Familiar with the use of Highways and preferable Railway software packages for AutoCAD and or Microstation
- A total of 5-10 years of experience as a draftsman, 3 of which will have been in major infrastructure and civil engineering projects in GCC
- Good verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Proven organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Skilled in IT (i.e. Microsoft Windows 7 and office packages) and able to provide IT support to other colleagues in the division
- Ability to work independently with low to medium supervision
- Experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the Civil Engineering industry is preferred.
