Our client, one of the fastest growing public safety and security solutions organisations globally, is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced CAD Operator to their UAE team. As the portfolio of infrastructure / civil projects across the Middle East continues to expand, so too does our employer, a leading provider of public safety and security solutions. Looking to expand their ranks and with long term prospects providing stability and career development, our employer is seeking to welcome a professional and experienced CAD Operator for their multi-billion dollar infrastructure project. As a key member of the IT Team, you will be responsible for using computer-aided design or CAD systems to make drawings which can be used in building designs, machinery designs, landscape designs and anything else that requires a design prior to being constructed.

Reporting to the Civil Design Team Leader, this role is responsible for the following:

• Must have knowledge of civil, architectural, structural, mechanical terminology.
• Interact with engineers and designers to quickly and accurately create drawings during design process.
• Maintain drawing files and coordinate document distribution to customer, job site and vendors.
• Can interpret instruction either written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Familiar with drafting and document control practices in an engineering office.
• Knowledgeable of drafting software for creating 2D and 3D computer drawings.
• Capability to work with multinational cultures -The role includes working in a very unique social environment with different cultures and demands great interpersonal skills, maturity and tolerance

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this pivotal role include:

• Post-secondary school training in drafting (2-4 year technical certificate or degree from an accredited institution preferred).
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil, architectural, structural, mechanical drafting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (AutoCAD 2012 and up) and/or Microstation, Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
• Must have good math skills, particularly algebra and geometry.
• Must have the ability to envision a finished product.
• Must be able to work with very little supervision.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
