CAS Engineer

Job description / Role

• Preparation of CAS design philosophy
• Preparation and review of project job specifications for CAS
• Listing of engineering deliverable document for CAS
• Basic and Detail Design activities pertaining to Building Lay-out and Structure Planning
• Prepare CAS specification, Drawing, Calculation and BOM.
• Check and Approve CAS specification, Drawing, Calculation and BOM that are prepared by Engineering Sub-Contractor.
• Preparation of Soil investigation & topographical survey requisition, carrying out technical bid analysis, clarification meeting with vendor and checking/approval of report.
• Preparation of Requisitions, carrying out technical bid analysis, clarification meeting with vendor and checking/approval of shop drawing and ISO drawing for steel & UG Pipe.
• Preparation and Check of material take-offs for Civil, Structure and Building work
• Use of design software for structural calculation and drawings such as Staad, TEKLA, AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Coordinate with client, vendors and other disciplines for CAS design including business trip
• Perform Vendor Prints Check and Approval
• Perform site activities, such as Field Engineering, Support and Punch Clear.
• Use of 3D modeling software(PDS & PDMS) and clash checking with piping & other disciplines
• Other Support Work for CAS Leaders

Requirements

B.S. or equivalent degree in Engineering

- Have a minimum of 5 years extensive experience in an appropriate industry (ideally in one or more of Oil & Gas, LNG, Refining, Petrochemicals)
- Have at least one PMC service experience or more for Oil & Gas, LNG, Refining and Petrochemicals
- A proven track record of working on FEED and EPC phases for major Oil & Gas, LNG, Refining, Petrochemicals
- Oversee the Design works performed by the EPC Contractor
- Ability to deal with resolution of technical and contractual issues and policing of the design to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Proven PMC / Owner’s Engineer experience
- Experience in a similar role within the contractor environment
- Experience of leading teams
- Astute and conversant with the latest advances in technology
- Knowledge of international codes and specs
- Proven strong character and self-motivated individual
- Proven ability to engage in effective dealings with both client / owner and detail design contractors
- Good level of spoken and written English
