Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This role provides advice, guidance and best practice awareness and training in relation to CDD to in country retail business type stakeholders in relation to:
- CDD global policy, procedures and standards related to retail clients
- Group CDD policy, procedures and standards, (including standards in relation to name screening under Group procedures)
- Local CDD policy and local regulatory standards and regulatory changes impacting retail business.
- Standard and enhanced customer due diligence requirements for all personal and business customers whether individual or non individual

Review of Mandatory EDD clients
- Customer acceptance or on boarding, and, as required,
- Periodic account review intervals and
- Trigger event reviews..

This role supports the Head of L&C Retail Clients to deliver the appropriate, practical and best practice advice to the business on CDD standards and the maintenance of those standards by the business in accordance with mandated Group and Retail business risk appetite.

Core responsibilities:
* Advise on CDD policy and procedures and applicable local CDD regulations in country related to retail clients
* Advise on and where appropriate, escalate within (a) country and (b) the region, any high risk relationship, compliance issue or reputation risk relating to CDD in retail business.
* Exercise necessary authority/approval from a second line compliance position in relation to CDD as contemplated in CDD policy or as required under local CDD policy addendums
* Ensure that all differences between CDD global policy standards and local CDD regulatory standards related to retail clients are clearly mapped and documented and set out in a country addendum
* Ensure that any country exception requests relating to global policy standards (either higher or lower) are (i) clearly documented, (ii) first escalated for local executive business management consideration and approval and (iii) lodged with the Group Head of FCC, Retail Clients for final approval as per required procedures.
* Where necessary, provide stakeholder assistance to review and critique core business CDD processes (developed and owned by the business or operations) in relation to CDD execution to ensure connectivity to articulated CDD global compliance standards and any applicable local CDD regulations for retail clients.
* Scope and execute ongoing compliance assurance reviews (""CARs"") in country to test, monitor and provide ongoing assurance that CDD processes developed and implemented in country deliver articulated CDD policy compliance standards.
* Share the results of the review at appropriate governance forum(s) including CORC.

Other responsibilities:
* Assess CDD risks arising from specific clients and advise the business on management and mitigation of those risks in the best interests of the business, the Bank and being Here for good.
* Create a collaborative and connected working relationship with business and country compliance teams, Senior Regional CDD Advisor & country and regional FCC teams to ensure that local CDD risks are understood, managed and highly visible.
* Create a collaborative and connected working relationship with Operational Risk colleagues and the CDD Operations and SME CDD Execution Teams.
* Lead training of teams in the Retail business that are responsible for CDD in the first line of defence and establish a feedback loop to support continuous improvement and awareness;
* Appropriately escalate and engage with Senior Regional CDD Advisor/ Group Head FCC retail wherever required on more difficult/complex and high risk CDD advice or compliance issues.

* Supports efforts to position the Bank as an industry leader in the eyes of the relevant regulators and industry stakeholders as Here For Good
* Ensures effective escalation within the Bank to the right stakeholders at the right time, on the right issue.
* Takes responsibility and accountability for remit and has a "can do" approach

Knowledge development and information management
* Offer CDD subject matter expertise, drawing on all FCC networks, professional qualifications and experience.
* Ensures effective escalation within the Bank to the right stakeholders at the right time.

Requirements

The CDD Advisor - Retail Clients ideally has experience in one or more of:
* CDD Advisory
* AML Advisory
* Compliance and Legal
* Customer Due Diligence services
* Banking products and operations gained in a bank, leading regulator or a professional services firm.
