Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is an engineering and construction business based in Dubai, they have a strong market presence and are currently looking for an experienced professional to lead their finance function.

Responsibilities would be as follows:

- Partner with the CEO on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis
- Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team
- Engage with the COO to align financial management with short- and long-term financial planning and projections
- Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present operational metrics both internally and externally
- Drive the corporate strategy through the Finance team taking direct report from the Financial Controller
- Oversee functionality of accounting and internal controls systems across the organization
- Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to shareholders, banks and other stakeholders
- Assume responsibility for seamlessly delivering internal and external audits within the group delivery timeframes
- Attend Shareholders’, Board and Senior Management Team meetings and represent the finance function on all key forums
- Develop strategies and plans for working capital management, and ensure seamless implementation and functioning of the plan
- Explore opportunities for debt financing, restructuring and price negotiations
- Participate in exploring and developing new business opportunities, specifically: advise the CEO and COO on financing options for current and prospective projects
- Liaise with group legal departments on matters of corporate and legal significance
- Supervise through head of departments of critical support services functions across the organization including information technology, property and logistics and payroll

Requirements

Applicants should have the following:

1. Western education and passport to enable travel
2. Currently based in the GCC or UK
3. Qualified Accountant from a Western body
4. Sector background should include contracting and construction
5. Strong track record in finance, 20 years experience including some years as a CFO. Majority of experience ideally in Europe, US or Australasia
6. Strategic thinker, this role places a lot of emphasis on strategy
