The Role


My client, a leading food manufacturing firm is seeking the elite in the industry.

The Role: Chief Financial Officer
You will be based in London, United Kingdom and will report directly to the CEO of the conglomerate.

• Provide Financial Leadership to the Group, facilitate development and execution of Business/ Investment strategies and lead the business planning process across all business units to ensure objectives and targets are met and shareholder value enhanced.

• Propose and execute leveraging needs and negotiate all the Group 's borrowings at minimum cost so as to ensure an optimal debt: equity ratio, the availability of funds at all times and optimal investment of surplus/ available funds. Implement efficient cash management systems.

• Develop governance strategies, short/long term financial risk management, and effective integrations of finance functions with operations to deliberately cover overall company financial risk.

• Provide strategic and financial guidance to subsidiaries – ensure achievement of objectives and targets set out from time to time and through Business Plans, ensure compliance and integration with corporate objectives.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, external auditors and manage customer relationship to support major contract negotiations.

• Effective deployment of financial resources to maximize liquidity and return of financial assets and advise on investment opportunities including feasibility studies and return on investment analysis.

• Develop and implement accurate and timely systems for management reporting. In addition, ensure that statutory financial reporting is prepared under UK GAAP and then converted under IAS and presented in accordance to IFRS.

• Participate in the decision making process on operational, strategic and investment matters as a member of the Leadership Team to develop and monitor progress to ensure achievement of Business plans and implementation and execution of strategies

• Lead and implement state of the art ERP modules and technical support for providing management with timely, accurate and complete MIS reporting to monitor progress of the business.

• Lead and develop tools for strategic planning and annual operating budgets to streamline the process and support all departments to ensure accurate deliverables on a timely manner. This includes Income Statement, Capital Budget, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet.

• Ensure International Best Practices in ethical standards and financial governance, reporting and procedures so as to enhance credibility of information generated and protect Group’s assets and shareholder’s interests.

• Institute Group level consolidation of financial results and ensure monthly reporting to the CEO and Corporate VP-Finance & Information Systems and quarterly reporting to the Board on achievements against Business Plans and recommend required actions to enable continuous improvement and meeting of targets by operating units.

• Safeguard company assets through enforcing effective internal control procedures, implementing prudent balance sheet management and ensuring compliance to all legal, tax, insurance and corporate governance regulations to protect the company from any potential liability.

• Ensure recruitment, training and retention of high caliber finance professional, in coordination with Human Resources; create a motivating & rewarding work environment and performance culture.

• Provide financial services to the front-line through analysis of sales volumes and marketing spend, supporting strategies and market/customer initiatives to assess the value addition in achievement of business results.

• Full knowledge and experience of International Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting, and UK-General Accepted Accounting Principal

Recommended Qualifications
• CA/CPA/ACCA
• 20 years experience in food manufactory and retail business with global conglomerate, with at least seven years in a Senior Executive management role
• 5 years exposure to financial risk management issues
