Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To insure that all Internal & External auditing activities are independent, to act as an Internal consulting entity designed to add value and improve overall the bank operations. The CIA helps the bank to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes across all bank activities

STRATEGY
- CIA works closely with Senior Management to involve IA during the entire strategic transactions life cycle.
- IA determines banks readiness for the transaction.
- During due diligence, IA must alert banks Management to potential risks, or control or regulatory issues that would cause the bank to overpay or undervalue.
- Prior to deal close, IA Should help prevent deal value leakage.
- From a post-transaction perspective, IA has to be involved in critical components of the execution that can affect banks efficiencies and ascertain proper control monitoring of new or changes in processes.
- Finally, throughout the strategic transaction life cycle, IA should assess the management of any bank wide program to identify any improvement opportunities.

OPERATIONAL
- Evaluates and provides reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the proper and timely execution of all banks objectives and goals
- Reports risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to the Audit Committee and provides recommendations for improving banks operations, in terms of both efficiency and effective performance
- Acts as a liaison with external Auditors and Central Bank Auditors
- Evaluates regulatory compliance program with consultation from legal counsel
- Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures
- Evaluates the banks readiness in case of business interruption
- Maintains open communication with management and the Audit Committee
- Teams with other internal and external resources as appropriate
- Engages in continuous education and staff development
- Provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
- Provide increased visibility and transparency to key risks related to strategic transaction changes
- Reinforce that risks and controls are the responsibility of management
- Identify gaps in the integration or separation project management plan
- Suggest opportunities for additional synergies that would boost the acquisitions return on investment or cost savings as a result of the separation
- Call out the impact that the acquisition and its integration, or the divestiture, may be having on other parts of the business
- Highlight potential gaps in the internal control structure
- Support managements prioritization of risks of transition and organizational readiness for the effective and efficient allocation of resources to address the risks and controls

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Monitors performance for all direct reports and guides them in managing their assigned tasks by providing continuous feedback and on the Job Coaching and training and collaborates with the HR Division to ensure that all Training Needs Analysis for staff is strategically planned according to approved JDs and level of Competency required for each individual
- Leads the Audit team to deliver the Banks overall Audit vision and mission set by the Board Audit Committee based on SMART objectives and defined competencies

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Finance & holding a CIA certification is preferred.
- At least 15 years experience in Audit functions within the Banking Industry with at least 10 years in a Senior Managerial role in Audit. Sound understanding of Auditing Islamic Banking principles and products. Experience in an Islamic Financial Institution is preferred.
