The Role


The Role


CSSD processes follow the guidelines of International Patient Safety Goals and evidence based practice
Stock and equipment are managed and controlled according to hospital policy
Departmental standards for quality and productivity are maintained
Decontaminates, assembles, processes, sterilizes, maintains and distributes surgical instruments and supplies.
Relevant CSSD reports and statistics are compiled and submitted according to requirements
Professional ethics, EHL values and caring standards are demonstrated in behavior

Requirements


Requirements


Diploma Degree in CSSD from an accredited institute; otherwise, must have at least 4 years CSSD experience
Minimum 2 years experience in the field of Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) -- if with the required degree
Knowledge of General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Obs & Gyne surgical instrumentation
Must maintain certified status throughout the duration of employment
Working knowledge of microbiology, infection control principles, sterilization practices and inventory management
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to work effectively within a team
Ability to function effectively under pressure
Basic knowledge of computer applications
48 hours per week. Rotation of weekends. Schedule to be dependent on departmental needs
