CSSD Technician

Job description / Role

- Preparation and Packaging for sterilisation equipment
- Cleaning equipment
- Sterilising equipment, using the following methods: Steam; Sterrad Low temp Hydrogen Peroxide
- Using the CSSD machines, their function running and cleaning
- Monitoring and storage of sterile stock
- Care and handling of chemicals
- Flexible endoscopes
- Organize and set up trolleys for theater
- Tracking and recall of equipment and items
- Checking in and out of loan instruments

Requirements

- Appropriate experience and competence in all aspects of CSSD.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience at an appropriate level, and in an appropriate field, since gaining higher qualification.
- Three years experience in an Arabic / Western hospital or clinic setting preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement for better health outcomes.
- Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded).
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good computer literacy.
- Participates in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole.
- Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
