The RoleThe RoleDimensions of Job: Managing the camp facilities; overseeing the camp maintenance, the allocation and co-ordination of accommodation including transit guests. Budget and financial control of the food/water/fuel accounts, Maintenance of the ration account, Management of water/waste/sewage services, Responsible for detailing all TCNs, LNs in daily tasks. Camp fire officer and liaison with the military authorities, fire chief. Insuring that all H&S, H&H and environmental paperwork is up to date, custodian of camp assets, camp security manager, carry out regular accommodation checks, registration, allocation and maintenance of the white vehicle fleet, maintenance of the sick parade book, escorting duties, assisting in the badging of employees and local nationals, direct line manager to TCNS & LNs, attend TCMC monthly meetings, assisting managerial staff in the covering of personnel who are out on leave. Personnel: Managing the team of mainly TCNs, Afghan Labour and Escorts (15-20staff) Financial (as applicable): Making sure the camp runs with in the budget allocated. Principle Accountabilities 1. Manage, supervise and coordinate all camp activities as outlined in Dimensions of job above. 2. Order, Receive and check the material Quality and reject if not up to the mark 3. Maintain a stock and check from time to time, ordering more if needed. 4. Maintain Staff attendance and submit to finance for payroll 5. Routinely service Concrete plant and perform tests as needed ensuring proper calibration 6. Ensure compliance with all regulations, code of conduct and Security aspects of the Company (and Donor where applicable) 7. Promote, audit and enforce throughout all aspects of the jobholders influence the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. |
RequirementsRequirements•Minimum HND Degree in Construction/Building or related discipline •5+ years experience in a Camp Manager position. •In depth knowledge of Camp Management including logistical aspects including materials and scheduling, procurement of office supplies, camp standard compliance and safety •Multi-cultural environment experience is essential and experience in post-conflicted regions is desirable. •Excellent interpersonal and English writing communication skills. •Project Management skills desirable but not essential Adaptable and flexible approach to work with ability to perform consistently in any environment and under pressure. |
