Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Provides guidance to students and graduates on employment and career related matters
• Works with the academic divisions to facilitate the delivery of Career •Awareness programs and other career workshops within the context of course curriculum
• Collaborates with Program Chairs to develop a comprehensive plan for guiding students on career matters at various stages of their college experience
• Develops and improves upon initiatives that improve employment opportunities for students and graduates.
• Promotes post-graduate sponsorships and scholarships at local and international institutions, and mentors interested students through the application process
• Liaises with employers and education providers to assist them with their recruitment efforts and sponsorship programs
• Conducts work experience and employment readiness workshops
• Prepares graduates for the employment interview process though CV consultations, interview preparation, workforce information and general career guidance
• Recruits alumni and promotes an active Alumni Association
• Maintains a technically oriented Career Resources center and online presence
• Participates in the organization of annual Career Fairs, Employer •Presentations and other career related events
• Researches and presents information regarding employment trends and opportunities to enhance student advising services
• Works closely with all members of the Careers and Employer relations teams to update and maintain an employer database
• Ensures that Career Advising brochures and materials are kept current
• Keeps abreast of developments in the field by engaging in professional development activities
• Contributes to the development of the organization by monitoring programs and identifying areas for improvement; by observing and implementing system-wide policies and procedures; and by participating in extra-curricular activities and community events
• Travels to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required
• Develops an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

• A minimum 3 years of work experience relevant to career guidance
• Demonstrated familiarity with business practices and culture in the UAE
• A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology in the workplace
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
• Highly developed organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are required
• The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
• A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
• Teaching experience is desirableA minimum 5 years of work experience relevant to career guidance
