Employment: Full Time

A leading regional retail group is looking for an operational category manager with experience in the confectionary industry to join their team to contribute in their continued expansion in the GCC from Dubai.

The Confectionary category manager will work closely with the advertising teams and all other marketing professionals to ensure a consistent brand message is conveyed across all confectionary brands.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading through insight, shopper initiatives across channels to develop base confectionery sales within store formats.

• Working closely with our teams on execution of the plans including customer teams, field sales and range and merchandising teams.

• Supporting sales business teams in the presenting and selling of the category plans to customers.

• Maintaining ongoing analysis of category activity, using data, insight and understanding to proactively shape and re-shape category plans.

• Managing the annual risks and opportunities plan for the category in collaboration with key functions within the business, notably finance and supply chain.

• Supporting the Brand and Business Unit teams to translate consumer-led initiatives into compelling commercial propositions.

• Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of the client’s objectives, market characteristics and cost and markup factors.

• Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services.

• Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.

• Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.

• Consult with product development personnel on product specifications such as design, color, or packaging.

• Negotiate contracts with vendors or distributors to manage product distribution, establishing distribution networks or developing distribution strategies.

Requirements

Skills.

• Must have fluent knowledge of both Arabic and English.

• Significant research and report writing skills.

• Outstanding communication, presentation and people skills.

• Must be results oriented, possess strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

• Excellent command of the Microsoft Office Software Package (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
