Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

eCommerce is an exciting new support function within Alshaya as the business launches transactional websites for a number of the 70+ brands and 19 countries within the Alshaya portfolio. The function is rapidly building Alshaya's multi-channel capability to deliver customers' choice and convenience when shopping in a number of rapidly growing online emerging markets. The function is split in to 4 key areas - Trading & Merchandising, Operations & Program Management, Design & Content and Digital Marketing.

The Role

You will be responsible for defining the tactical and strategic direction of online product lines within each category in line with the product calendars. You will also assess and manage the product business mix to achieve financial and business objectives.

Key Accountabilities include:

* Driving the success of the online category through the effective merchandising and trading of products online for brands in the operating market.
* Accountable for category budgeted sales and margin, and execution of online strategies to deliver eCommerce KPIs.
* Coaching and mentoring a team, setting goals and developing individuals on an ongoing basis.
* Developing strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues (including brand teams, marketing and merchanding teams).
* Maintaining up-to-date competitor and global market knowledge.
* Reviewing business-critical information, make recommendations, communicate and facilitate solutions.

Requirements

Experience

You will have/be:

* Educated to degree level
* Knowledge of key commercial systems
* 2-3 years' experience in eCommerce product/category merchandising (ideally in a retail sector PLC)
* Retail experience
* Exposure to eCommerce at an operational level, including category and business planning through to implementation
* Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and management skills
* Analytical and numerical skills
* The ability to motivate and influence team and individuals
* Execllent analytical/numerical/statistical skills
* Presentation skills
* Strong interpersonal/networking skills
* Good understanding of competitive positioning, management of commercial processes, and maximisation of business opportunities.
