Category Manager - eCommerce - Mothercare - Kuwait

eCommerce is an exciting new support function within Alshaya as the business launches transactional websites for a number of the 70+ brands and 19 countries within the Alshaya portfolio. The function is rapidly building Alshaya's multi-channel capability to deliver customers' choice and convenience when shopping in a number of rapidly growing online emerging markets. The function is split in to 4 key areas - Trading & Merchandising, Operations & Program Management, Design & Content and Digital Marketing.

The Role:
As Category Manager for the eCommerce division, you will define the tactical & strategic direction of online product lines within the Russian market, as well as assessing & managing the product Business mix to achieve the Company's Financial & Business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Driving the success of the online Category(s) through the effective merchandising and trading of products online for brands in the operating markets
* Providing guidance, coaching and management to the eCommerce Product Merchandising team
* Delivering world-class product presentation and merchandising of products within their specified categories
* Supporting the development and provision of KPI reporting
* Maintaining active communication channels between eCommerce Product Merchandisers and all other internal stake holders
* Developing strong relationships with key online and brand teams in order to achieve or exceed budgeted sales and profitability objectives
* Building strong relationships with Brand marketing teams to ensure that brand objectives and guidelines are represented within the eCommerce team
* Working with brand teams to solve any issues relating to inventory, promotions or price
* Maintaining up-to-date competitor & global business trends knowledge
* Reviewing business critical information, making recommendations, and facilitating solutions.

Requirements

* Minimum 3 years' experience in ecommerce product/category merchandising within Retail organization
* Exposure to eCommerce at an operational level, including category and business planning through to implementation
* Strong analytical, statistical and presentation skills
* Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
