Category Manager - eCommerce - Mothercare - Kuwait

eCommerce is an exciting new support function within Alshaya as the business launches transactional websites for a number of the 70+ brands and 19 countries within the Alshaya portfolio. The function is rapidly building Alshaya's multi-channel capability to deliver customers' choice and convenience when shopping in a number of rapidly growing online emerging markets. The function is split in to 4 key areas - Trading & Merchandising, Operations & Program Management, Design & Content and Digital Marketing.

The Role:
Mothercare is Alshaya's flagship brand for eCommerce, being the brand which first established and utilised eCommerce functions, thus paving the way for the rest of our brands. As Category Manager for Mothercare, you will help define the brand's continuing tactical and strategic direction of online product lines within all Middle Eastern markets, as well as assessing and managing the product business mix to achieve our financial and business objectives. Your portfolio will extend out of region as well to provide category management for the Russian market - a key area of expansion for Alshaya.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Driving the success of the online categories through the effective merchandising and trading of online products for brands in the operating markets
* Delivering world-class product presentation and merchandising of products within their specified categories
* Supporting the development and provision of KPI reporting
* Providing guidance, coaching and management to the eCommerce Product Merchandising team.

You will be challenged to stay up-to-date with regional competitors and global business trends, reviewing critical information as it becomes available and innovating the solutions which will help shape the ecommerce field in this emerging market.

Requirements

* At least 3 years' ecommerce product/category merchandising experience in a retail organisation
* Exposure to ecommerce at an operational level, including category and business planning through to implementation
* Strong analytical, statistical and presentation skills.

The ideal candidate for this role will have exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, which will be required in order to manage active communication channels between a rapidly developing team of eCommerce Product Merchandisers and key internal stake holders, including brand marketing teams.
