Employment: Full Time

The Catering Administration Specialist provides technical support and detailed financial input to support the development of client solutions and bids prepared in response to Requests for Proposals or otherwise. The work requires a great deal of attention to detail and precision.

The focus is on providing technical and analytical support for the catering proposal development process. The Catering Administration Specialist ensures that the unique catering concepts proposed for commercial and military clients in remote areas of the world, are founded in accurate, realistic and commercially viable financial and administrative planning.

The Catering Administration Specialist prepares spreadsheets of full menu cycles developed by the Catering Specialist for various nationalities, including special meals, and menus for events. He contributes to the development or enhancement of meal registration systems, food storage concepts and stock management systems for remote camps. In addition, he develops spreadsheets or graphical representations of:

- Equipment lists
- Ingredient lists
- Staffing plans and organization charts
- Shift rosters and rotations

The Catering Administration Specialist supports the development of plans for customer service and contract/project management systems and solutions. He contributes to the cost planning and estimating process for all catering services, kitchens, DFACs, equipment, personnel, training, uniforms, PPE, etc.

Requirements

Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in catering operations; experience in large-scale camp catering operations is an asset
- A minimum of 3 years experience in planning, measuring or evaluating financial data for catering operations
- Experience with Recipe Manager or another recipe management software program
- Experience planning and costing requirements for catering operations, including:
* Manpower
* Equipment
* PPE
* Food
* Dining facilities
- Operational experience in Africa, Eurasia, the Far East or Australasia is an asset, as is experience in the oil and gas or mining sector

Background and character:
- Fluent in English, with strong IT/computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing requirements
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Flexible work approach and willingness to work additional hours
- Ability to digest and understand complex RFPs and develop clear plans of action for assigned tasks
- A focus on solutions, not problems, always seeking a way to move the project forward
